International law firm DAC Beachcroft is delighted to announce the appointment of highly regarded barrister and Deputy District Judge, Fran Lawley, who has today joined its in-house barrister and advocacy service, 8 DAC Beachcroft Buildings (8DB).
Fran has over 17 years’ experience of civil litigation, including 11 years in external chambers and six years at the employed bar at two large international firms. The main focus of her practice is high-value personal injury litigation arising from accidents on the road, at work and in public places, including complex multi-party liability disputes. She has significant experience of dealing with litigation involving allegations of fraud and fundamental dishonesty, as well as credit hire and industrial disease cases. Her work has also included commercial and property litigation covering contractual disputes, property damage, professional negligence, nuisance and boundary disputes.
As well as her practice at the bar, Fran sits as a Deputy District Judge and acts as an advocacy trainer. At 8DB, she will work alongside barristers David Fardy, Michelle Liddy and Nick Thornsby, who were appointed as Deputy District Judges in February 2024.
Jonathan Robinshaw, head of 8DB and partner in DACB's Claims Solutions Group, comments, "Fran brings with her a wealth of experience and insight from both her high-value personal injury practice and years sitting as a Deputy District Judge. Fran's addition to 8DB underscores our commitment to excellence and our dedication to delivering unparalleled service to our clients."
Fran says, “I am excited to continue my career at the employed bar in the ambitious and talented team at 8DB. I look forward to working alongside colleagues at DACB, serving both existing and new clients.”
DACB launched 8DB in order to provide its insurer and commercial clients with access to the full suite of litigation and dispute resolution services, in one place. 8DB’s barristers and advocates act for clients across many of DACB’s services, including Motor, Casualty, Credit Hire, Property Disputes, Costs Litigation, Data Breach and Inquests.
