Biography
Julie-Anne is a senior associate with the Commercial Litigation team in DAC Beachcroft’s Dublin office. She has experience in dealing with a variety of disputes, using all forms of alternative dispute resolution and litigation at all levels, including the Commercial Court and Supreme Court. Aside from dealing with commercial disputes, Julie-Anne's practice comprises disputes relating to property, landlord and tenant and general commercial litigation matters, with a particular interest in planning and environmental issues. Julie-Anne also has considerable experience in dealing with financial claims and advising financial service providers in relation to their business.
Julie-Anne's recent experience includes:
- Acting on behalf of a well-known Irish retailer in a high profile and high value judicial review in the Commercial Court in respect of a planning decision.
- Advising a statutory body in relation to proceedings challenging the scope and validity of its' search and seizure powers, initially in the Competition Court (High Court) and ultimately by way of a "leapfrog" appeal, the Supreme Court.
- Providing advice on arbitration proceedings relating to a schedule of dilapidations served post-termination of a lease of an industrial premises.
- Defending a financial services provider in relation to a variety of high value claims issued against it, concerning failed "Celtic Tiger" era investments, to include allegations of mis-selling and failure to warn.
