He has over 20 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including motor accidents, Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims.

Nick leads a team in Newport which manages a high volume of motor claims on behalf of the majority of leading motor insurers, regardless of value or complexity. He also handles the higher value and complex claims including accidents involving animals and chronic pain. Nick is also a named designated lawyer for leading insurers.

Relevant experience includes advising a leading insurer in relation to:

• An alleged accident at work which allegedly caused fibromyalgia and prevented the Claimant from working or carrying out the majority of her activities of daily living. The claim was successfully defended at trial resulting in a saving of more than £2m and also potentially stopped future similar claims being made by other workers at the Defendant’s factory.
• An accident where the Claimant allegedly was chased by the Defendant’s cow and suffered injuries which developed into chronic pain. The claim was successfully defended at a 5 day trial resulting in a saving of more than £1m.
• A fatal RTA where damages of c£2.15m were sought but the claim settled at a virtual JSM for £400,000.
• An accident where an elderly Claimant suffered both a brain injury and a below knee amputation which settled at a virtual JSM for £900,000 including damages for single level accommodation.
