Joshua is a Singapore-qualified lawyer with expertise in insurance law and commercial litigation. He began his career handling construction disputes in Singapore before transitioning to advising (Re)Insurers on coverage matters and disputes. He currently specialises on providing coverage advice to (Re)Insurers in both the financial lines and cyber markets.

Joshua also routinely acts as a Breach Coach/Incident Response Manager for clients across the region, where he assists clients who have suffered a cyber breach by providing both strategic and legal advice to them.

He spent a year on secondment as a Senior Claims Advocate at a global broker in their financial services practice group.

Featured Experience:

• Advised a Director and Officer (D&O) insurer in relation to questions as to whether the “conduct” exclusion would apply in relation to a director being found guilty of corruption by a court in Indonesia.
• Advised a D&O insurer in relation to coverage for a US class action securities claim in relation to a telecommunications company.
• Acted as breach counsel to a global organisation which suffered a data breach via a subsidiary in Singapore. 130 different data privacy laws were considered for notification. Advised the insured/insurer on their claim against the third party vendor who was responsible for the data breach.
• Advised cyber insurers on coverage.
• Acted as monitoring counsel for several large arbitrations and litigation matters around the world.
