Biographie
Paul Davison's practice extends to a wide range of commercial insurance areas, both contentious and non-contentious.
Paul has extensive experience of drafting policy wordings and advising upon major policy coverage disputes in relation to professional indemnity, D&O, material damage/business interruption, transactional liability and environmental insurances.
Paul acts for London market insurers in defending claims brought in against a range of professionals, in particular accountants, insurance brokers, solicitors and construction professionals. Paul also acts for insurers in subrogated recovery actions.
Paul also has an extensive non-contentious commercial insurance practice, advising upon a wide range of insurance issues in a corporate context. In particular Paul advises upon insurance market agreements (including delegated authority agreements and broker service agreements).
His non-contentious practice has led Paul to advise extensively upon the structuring of insurance programmes and in negotiating complex insuring obligations, in particular in relation to large scale development/regeneration and PFI/PPP projects. He has also drafted commercial combined and project/PFI standard policy wordings for several major London market company and Lloyd's insurers.
Recent prominent cases Paul has worked on include:
- Thorogood & another v Sudworth [2013] EWHC 1370 (QB)
- Bluefin Insurance Brokers v. FOS [2014] EWHC 3413 (Admin)
- Mehjoo v Harben Barker [2014] EWCA Civ 358
